Two 8-tonne MK5 Stevshark anchors

Certified MK5 Stevshark Type Anchors, Ex-China Works

How Aeromarine re-routed McDermott’s urgent 8-tonne anchor order through its own China manufacturing line — matched to spec, ABS certified, and shipped to Jebel Ali.

CLIENT

McDermott

PROJECT

D7264 North Field Expansion

SCOPE

6 × MK5 Stevshark anchors, 8,000 kg

DELIVERED

Jebel Ali, UAE · ex-Qingdao

THE CHALLENGE

McDermott Middle East came back to Aeromarine a second time on an urgent basis — this time for six certified 8-tonne MK5 Stevshark anchors with teeth, for its D7264 North Field Expansion project. The line item had originally been routed through Aeromarine’s India supply chain, but a mandatory-export condition on that route meant it could not be fulfilled from India in the time McDermott needed.

Rather than let the schedule slip, McDermott looked to Aeromarine to find another way to deliver the same specification, on the same urgency.

WHAT AEROMARINE DID

  • Matched the exact specification: 8,000 kg MK5 Stevshark-type anchor with teeth, to drawing CJ-17-8000-00.
  • Slotted the order into an anchor production run already underway at Aeromarine’s own China manufacturing works.
  • Cast steel construction (ZG230-450H / Q355C), coated, held to +7% / −3% weight and ±4% dimensional tolerance.
  • Carried each of the 6 units through full ABS inspection and certification before release.
  • Shipped Ex-Works China, sea freight ex-Qingdao to Jebel Ali, UAE.

THE OUTCOME

Six certified MK5 Stevshark anchors were delivered against McDermott’s D7264 requirement, re-routed and fulfilled through Aeromarine’s China works after the India leg of the order could not clear its export condition in time.

WHY IT MATTERS

Two manufacturing and supply routes — India and its own China works — mean a compliance snag on one path doesn’t have to cost a customer their schedule. It is the second consecutive urgent order McDermott has placed with Aeromarine, after the airlifted HMPE mooring rope supplied for its DB50 project work with IOCL’s KG-basin development. Matching the spec, the certification and the date — first time — is what keeps a demanding contractor coming back.

Supplied with full paperwork:  ABS inspection & certification  ·  Drawing CJ-17-8000-00  ·  full shipment documentation (purchase order, export invoice, packing list).
