How Aeromarine met an urgent McDermott request for four Stevpris MK6 anchors — nobody else in the world had ready stock. Aeromarine did, and had them inspected, certified and shipped within about a week.

PROJECT
D7317 Zuluf Package 1
SCOPE
4 × Stevpris MK6 anchors, 7,000 kg
DELIVERED
Jebel Ali, UAE · ex-Mundra
THE CHALLENGE
McDermott came to Aeromarine again, this time on an urgent basis for four 7-tonne Vryhof Stevpris MK6 anchors for its D7317 Zuluf Package 1 project, supplied through McDermott Arabia. McDermott’s own search had turned up no ready stock of this anchor anywhere in the world on the timeline the project needed.
Aeromarine had four Stevpris MK6 anchors in stock — used, good-condition units, individually serial-numbered — but they still had to be inspected, certified and moving within days, not weeks.
WHAT AEROMARINE DID
- Identified 4 used, good-condition 7-tonne Stevpris MK6 anchors (Vryhof) already held in stock — Serial Nos. 6960, 6966, 6968, 6970.
- Carried out MPI on all weld joints, plus a full connector and swivel assembly check, on each anchor.
- Put every anchor through ABS inspection and certification before release.
- Certified and shipped within about a week of the request — FOB Mundra to Jebel Ali, UAE, on to McDermott Arabia’s Zuluf project site.
THE OUTCOME
Four certified Stevpris MK6 anchors were sourced from stock, inspected and shipped within about a week — when fresh stock did not exist anywhere else McDermott had checked — keeping the Zuluf Package 1 campaign on schedule.
WHY IT MATTERS
This is what a stocked supplier can do that a make-to-order one can’t: when the world has no ready stock, having the right anchor already on the shelf — and the inspection and certification process to back it — turns a stalled schedule into a one-week delivery. It’s another in a run of urgent McDermott orders Aeromarine has answered on short notice, alongside HMPE mooring rope for its DB50 project work and MK5 anchors from Aeromarine’s own China works.
Supplied with full paperwork: ABS inspection & certification · MPI weld-joint reports · Vryhof Stevpris MK6 identification (Serial Nos. 6960 / 6966 / 6968 / 6970) · full shipment documentation.
